About the Item

Early 18th Century Italian Carved Walnut Commode. Commode features four deep drawers adorned with elaborately carved foliate and scrolled motifs. The drawer faces are framed with deeply recessed molding and decorated with bold, high-relief carving characteristic or the Italian Renaissance tradition. Each drawer retains turned wooden knobs, adding to the authentic period feel. Commode is constructed from solid walnut, prized for its durability, fine grain, and ability to hold detailed carving. The carved front is complemented by paneled sides and a shaped plinth base, giving the chest architectural weight and presence. In modern interiors, this commode adapts to many design styles.
