About the Item
This is a drawer storage made in Japan.
It was made in the Taisho period (1900s-1920s) and is made of quaint cedar wood. The handles are made of iron, preserving the flavor of the period.
The 27 small drawers neatly lined up in an orderly fashion are a sight to behold and show the care and aesthetics of the craftsman's handiwork.
The back of the drawer has been repaired with an iron plate, which is also austere and gives the piece a deep taste and sense of old furniture.
All drawers open and close smoothly and are practical enough. It has been cleaned and is ready to use.
This is a piece that embodies the uniquely Japanese aesthetic of "wabi-sabi.
