This is a large antique gentleman's tallboy. An English, walnut chest of drawers, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850. Striking example with beautiful figuring and fascinating cot drawer Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout Superb figuring to the select walnut stocks, bookmatched to the fascia Exceptional colour, with warm caramel hues beneath a wax polish finish Classic arrangement of two short over three long drawers with graduated heights Eye-catching fascia with quality mahogany drawer boxes Each drawer dressed with brass drop handles on pierced backplates Inset brass lined locks adorn each fascia — untested, key absent Lowest in deep 'cot drawer' form, opening within the front apron Standing upon a quartet of squat bun feet with a panelled rear This is a superb antique gentleman's tallboy, with exceptional colour and of delightful proportion. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
