Louis XV style bombe' chest attr. Jacques Bodart

About the Item

This bombe chest attributed to Bodart is a fine example of his craftsmanship and the opulent style of the Louis XV period. The curved shape and intricate carvings of the chest showcase the attention to detail and craftsmanship that was characteristic of Bodart's work. The addition of the dore' bronze hardware further elevates the piece, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication. The chest measures 37.5” W x 27.75” H x 19 5/8” D and the drawer interior measures 25” W x 15.5” L x 6.25” D. As per the single previous owners, the piece was made by Bogart along with the rest of their furnishings. The chest has some nicks and scratches shown in photos. Jacques Bodart was a renowned French cabinetmaker who worked during the 18th century and was known for his skill in creating luxurious furniture pieces for the aristocracy. His pieces are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of French furniture. Bodart company was in its prime during the 1960s until the late 70s when it closed., Bodart was a French designer hired to head up the company and produce very high-quality furniture with the utmost attention to detail. The pieces were fashioned after famous French pieces of furniture.
