Louis XV Style Marble Top Chinese Lacquered Stamped Commode
About the Item
Chinese lacquer commode, chased and gilded bronze with Aleppo breccia marble top, with a frame of plain black Martin veneer.
Beautiful ornamentation of finely chiseled and gilded bronzes including angle drops, foot
slippers, lamp base and keyholes.
The commode has two full-width drawers mounted "san traverse"; the sides and Bombe face front are set with shaded Chinoiserie bantam lacquer with diminutive figures of floral and animal posed in riparian landscapes on a black background.
