Mid-Century Modern Danish Model 314 Teak Chest of Drawers, Johannes Sorth, Nexø

About the Item

Elegant teak chest of drawers from the Danish manufacturer Nexø based on a design by Johannes Sorth from the 1960s. This chest of drawers impresses with its simple shape as well as the design and craftsmanship details. The chest of drawers has a total of six drawers. The two upper drawers have practical divisions inside. The top drawer is lockable. The surrounding frame of the body has a wide bevel towards the inside. The resulting shadows or highlights highlight the frame from the recessed fronts of the drawers. The soft curves of the solid wood handles of the drawers contrast with the angular body. Another special feature is the change of material in the base. This is made of oak and forms a striking contrast to the teak of the body. The quality craftsmanship in the implementation of this chest of drawers is reflected in the veneer on the front. A continuous veneer pattern runs across the fronts of the drawers. The chest of drawers is in very good condition with signs of wear and patina.
