About the Item

Produced by Meredew, England. From the late 1950s and early 1960s. Produced by Meredew in the Letchworth factory in Hertfordshite, England. In all likelihood a design by Alphons Loebenstein. Inspired by Italian design from the 1950s, which was extremely popular at the time. Finished in a high gloss maple veneer. All 6 drawers run smoothly and have their original metal handles. Striking angular design. It is sat on a solid beech frame with splayed beech legs. A beautiful piece of furniture. Good storage, with 6 good sized drawers which have angular, modernist lines that gives the piece great depth and texture, with the high-gloss finish providing excellent light reflection. A desirable piece which would work equally well in a bedroom, modern hallway or lounge. A high gloss lacquered piece which is in superb original condition, the handles are also original with faux brass plated finish, some age related patina and wear to the handles which gives the piece some authenticity. This is a great looking & fully functionable piece that will sit well in a vintage themed home.
