Monumental Rare Period 1770s era Italian Inlaid Olivewood and Walnut Commode
About the Item
This is a rare piece of furniture of monumental scale. The commode is in good original antique condition and will show signs of age and wear including patina, old scuffs, scratches and this is desirable for a 250 years old Italian piece. The piece is absolutely massive and has gorgeous tracery inlay and unique hidden dove-tail joinery. The piece has had reinforcements in the recent past to make the drawers srtonger and they are srtong. The case is beautifully aged and has wormholes which you either find desirable and understand, or you don't. They are proof of age and give this piece charm and character which antique buyers love.
