About the Item

Chippendale Chest of Drawers New York Circa 1765 Primary Wood: Mahogany Secondary Woods: Tulip Poplar, White Pine Height. 32 1/2 inches Width. 38 1/2 inches Depth:19 3/4 inches A very fine and rare chest of drawers made in New York during the Chippendale period. Pre-Revolutionary case pieces from New York are rare and this chest exhibits many of the finest qualities from the period. For instance, the gadrooned base and well formed ball and claw feet are of the finest from the area. The rich mahogany is enhanced by the original surface and color making this a highly sought after piece by American furniture collectors.
