Oyster Veneer Mid 18th Century Chest of Drawers

About the Item

This beautiful and well proportioned mid 18th Century Chest of drawers has been very sympathetically re-veneered and has had the handles replaced. The chest itself is oak, and is dated to approximately 1740. The chest of drawers is comprised of 3 long drawers, with an ornate escutcheon on each drawer. There are some minor scratches and blemishes to the piece, however, these do not in any way detract from the chest and it's stability, rather it enhances the beauty and natural path thru it's long life. The chest of drawers is supported on bracket feet with dove tale joints are another sign of quality. This chest would make a fine addition to a variety of rooms and settings, both traditional and contemporary.
