Pair Italian Neoclassical Style Commodes Venetian Hand-Painted Chest of Drawers

About the Item

A fine pair of Neoclassical Style Commodes or Venetian Hand Painted Chest of Drawers featuring fine scroll work in hues of yellow ochres, olive greens and blues on an antiqued white background. The overall warm tones of the paintwork are accentuated by the hand-painted top with various subdued shades of green. The pieces have curved legs and has the artwork on front and both sides. The bottom drawer bears a signature, artist unknown. This pair of Hand-Painted Neoclassical Style Venetian Commodes or Chest of Drawers have been hand-crafted with an attention to details with stunning decoration somewhat in the manner of Renaissance artist Raphael Sanzio. Dogs, birds, or other creatures, cornucopia, urns, foliage and much more. Wonderful examples of hand-painted Neoclassical Venetian Chest of Drawers of the 18th and 19th Centuries from the top to the 3 generously sized drawers all raised on cabriole legs. The chests have scalloped edges and further accentuated aprons. Both are Signed. Measures: 47 1/4" Wide x 19 3/4" Deep x 37 1/2" High Will enhance any traditional, Spanish or Mediterranean, contemporary, country style home. Intricate inlaid marquetry design throughout, the front and sides of the piece as well. Remarkable attention to detail in the brass mounts and other hardware! This beautiful Louis XVI style ormolu-mounted commode inlaid with marquetry and parquetry of rosewood, satinwood, possibly amaranth and painted wood inlays, some similarities to the model by Jean-Henri Riesener, Circa 1880. The breakfront white marble top above a conforming moulded cornice and a pair of large deep drawers inlaid with a central foliate, flanked by lattice and patera-decorated panels, the sides with similar panels, the angles with acanthus-cast volutes, on scrolled acanthus feet. The white marble top with striations and veins coming through. Generously sized, the two spacious drawers are perfect for storing your belongings. Would enhance any bedroom, living room, foyer, entryway or office and will have your guests conversing amongst one another about the pure detail and craftsmanship used in order to make it.
