This pair of French commodes exhibit exceptional marquetry inlay
of the finest woods portraying a chinoiserie scene. It is late
19th century, each having a shaped and bowed top that is also
Inlaid with a floral and foliate oval motif above a conforming case
Fitted with two drawers, both with an inlaid chinoiserie scene,
Flanked by a rounded cupboard, raised on cabriole legs ending
In ormolu hoof feet, the whole heavily ornamented with gilt
Bronze mounts and millworker. A door opens on each side with
an interior shelf. The drawers slide easily and the doors open
Well for storage.
