Pair of Maison Jansen Black & Mirrored Chests/Commodes

About the Item

Pair of Maison Jansen Black & Mirrored Chests/Commodes  Attributed to Maison Jansen, France, circa 1960s A rare and exquisite pair of black and mirror chests/commodes attributed to the iconic French design firm Maison Jansen, circa 1960s. These sophisticated chests are designed in a sleek, modern neoclassical style, highlighting Maison Jansen’s signature elegance and subtle attention to detail. Each chest stands at 33 inches high, 40.5 inches wide, and 21 inches deep, featuring a striking rectangular shape with rounded front corners and finely cast brass mounts with column details, resting gracefully on classic toupie feet. Unlike traditional black lacquer finishes, these chests have stained or ebonized black wood that offers a rich, subtle texture. Fine cast brass mounts accentuate the structure, while the inset clear mirrored panels (the mirrors are clean and clear; the listing photos show the reflection of the terracotta floor and sisal rug) add a touch of glamour and depth. Each chest is fitted with three spacious mirrored drawers, detailed with brass swag handles. The top drawer measures 5 inches high by 36 inches wide, while the two lower drawers are 8 inches high by 36 inches wide, providing ample storage space. These chests are perfect as generous nightstands, stylish storage in a living or dining room, or as striking entrance pieces. Ready to place and use, these commodes are a beautiful fusion of French workmanship and modern neoclassical style. Overall Measurements: 33 inches high x 40.5 inches wide x 21 inches deep  Top drawer measures 5 inches high x 36 inches wide.  Two bottom drawers measure 8 inches high x 36 inches wide.
