About the Item

What a great chest of drawers! And what a great big ugly stain, smack in the middle of the top. A previous owner put a big burn in the top, then made an unholy mess of his many attempts to fix it. Of course I wondered whether I should buy it and offer it for resale. Then I looked at the beautiful proportions and the lovely honey color, the tiers of molding making up the step-down edge to the top, and the four spacious hand-cut dovetailed drawers, more or less equal in depth. I looked at the simplicity of the design, with only some fluting and acorn corbels as adornments. I thought how easy it would be hide it under a runner or place mat, and how someone would be bound to appreciate it, especially if I offered it around half price.
