About the Item
What a pretty little chest of drawers! The bold step-down edge to the top is created by applied ogee molding, cut to a chamfer at the front corners. The drawers are beautifully made, with delicate hand-cut dovetails, typical of Scandinavian construction. The shallow top and deep bottom drawers have lovely Louis-Philippe style fronts, while the two in between are flat and equal in depth. All have attractive solid brass escutcheon plates. The case has chamfered front corners, following the pattern of the top. This also extends to the block feet. This piece has great color and grain pattern and the wood is quite clear.
