About the Item
New England. This chest is maple and pine with a mellow old patina. The chest is entirely original with the exception of replaced hinges and several upper drawer pulls/ escutcheons. A rare survivor of Pilgrim Century American furniture; and one of the finest of it’s form with exceptional proportions, large bulbous front ball feet, and scalloped bootjack feet in the rear.
