Queen Anne Mahogany Highboy

About the Item

The top section of this Queen Anne highboy has a crown with Wall of Troy molding and a blind fretwork frieze carved in the manner of Thomas Elfe of 18th century Charleston, SC. The drawers have a lipped edge. The legs have a carved shell on the knee with carved volutes that terminate in pad feet. The top section is circa 1770, the married base is circa 1870, The fretwork hardware is later.
