About the Item

An early chest, believed to be English in origin and dating to the Mid-18th Century. The top constructed of two panels with dowels and a carved edge. With elaborately carved drawers- the top and middle ones with angular moldings with V shaped ends and key holes (lacking the key). The second and lower drawers with raised center diamond motifs. All drawers with open drop shaped iron pulls. The sides with two recessed panels each. Raised on block feet front and back. Lacking a key. Measures: W. 37 1/2", Depth 23", H, 37 1/2". Condition: Please see all detail photos. The square legs are a later addition. The top worn with old stains, stable age cracks and time softened gouges, stable age cracks to the left upper side panel, all mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is authentic and fine.
