About the Item

A beautiful example of an early American Empire chest with full-column front and stand-up butlers desk. Provides ample storage as a chest of drawers, and doubles as a secretary with additional small drawers in the interior. Rests on well-articulated lion's paw feet with carved acanthus. Has original removable, back-splash. Mahogany is of very high quality. Restored and French-polished, with new tooled black-leather writing surface. Note: You should always request a shipping quote. Measures: 52 1/2" wide x 24" deep x 65" high to top of back splash (52 1/4" high without back splash); 33 3/4" high from floor to writing surface.
