Swedish 19th century satin birch chest of drawers

About the Item

Scandinavian 19th century satin birch 4 drawer chest circa 1870. Simple but elegant piece of Biedermeier influenced furniture. Rectangular top with moulded edge, below which a 4 graduating drawers each veneered in striking satin birch. Typically of this period with Scandinavian furniture the drawers open on the key, each drawer fitted with a brass keyhole. Top and sides also veneered in satin birch. Standing on block feet. Working locks and key. Rich golden colour and recently hand polished in our workshop. Minor restoration to age shrinkage to centre of moulding, which has been photographed. Fine quality chest ready for everyday use.
