About the Item

An early 19th century mahogany chest of drawers with satinwood stringing having bone escutcheons and an inset marble top above dentil molding. The column forms flanking the drawers are topped by neoclassical ormolu busts and terminate in hairy paw feet. A fall front desk of the same design is featured in the definitive work on Swedish furniture.
