Swedish Mid-19th C. Wooden Butler's Chest w/Convex Drop Front & Paw Front Feet

About the Item

A Swedish wooden Butler's chest, with original finish, from the mid 19th century. This antique chest from Sweden features a convex-front opening in the top portion. When open, note that this upper portion remains curved and is hooked to two chains (not photographed here). Within the top portion are multiple inner shelves and little storage drawers. The lower section of this piece is made of four drawers, with a smaller one at the top and larger drawers at the bottom. This lower section is flanked with small turned Doric columns on either side. This chest is raised on metal paw feet in the front. The color is original and there is nice wood grain and age. This mid 19th Century Swedish case piece would be perfect for a living room, bedroom or office space.
