About the Item
This chest of drawers stands out for its sculptural, almost skeletal wooden frame, which supports three floating drawers. The structure is entirely hand-carved, with softly rounded edges following the natural fibers of the wood plates.
This light tone wood is an exeptional curly european alder, with some knots left visible. Each drawer is constructed with exposed dovetail joints, adding a quiet craftsmanship detail without ornament. Every drawers are reversible with means the chest can be placed in the centre of a room with drawers openings from the back or front based on your choice of drawer opening direction.
It draws on organic modernism — somewhere between furniture and sculpture.
This isn’t a piece that hides its construction — instead, it makes the relationship between form, structure, and material central to its presence.
