This is a vintage decorative chest of drawers. An English, mahogany and walnut drawing room storage cabinet in Georgian revival taste using quality antique stock, dating to the second half of the 20th century. Striking and of fine craftsmanship, a chest of drawers of some distinction Displays a desirable aged patina in good original order throughout Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep russet hues Accentuated with lighter walnut and boxwood stringing Arrangement of six drawers, three narrow over three, graduated full-width items Each dressed with ormolu drop handles over aged backplates with gothic overtones Quality drawer boxes with deep fascia, each in pleasingly clean order Shaped ormolu lock escutcheons to each drawer — keys absent Bold, shaped top hosts superb circular marquetry with quarter bookmatched figuring Pair of pilasters enhanced with brass caps frame the drawer fronts Trio of brass mounts adorn the lower fascia, decorated with traditional motif Rides smoothly upon a set of concealed castors for ease of movement This is a distinctive vintage decorative chest of drawers, graced with an abundance of detail and appealing finish. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
