Vintage large Scandinavian commode in pine from the 19 century
About the Item
Antique 19th century Scandinavian chest of drawers in solid pine opening to 5 drawers. The top drawer is thinner and has compartments. The whole structure is divided into two parts assembled one on top of the other (see photos), which makes it easier to transport or to go upstairs. Dovetailed and pegged assembly, small detached turned columns and beautifully curved drawer fronts. This chest of drawers is generously proportioned and offers plenty of storage space. Good overall condition, with a patina of age, a very luminous Gustavian style that will fit into many interiors.

Vintage Danish Glass Vase by Per Lutken for Holmegaard in 1960s
By Per Lutken for Holmegaard
Located in SAINT-YRIEIX-SUR-CHARENTE, FR
Glass vase (H:25cm), design by Per Lutken (1916-1998), published by the famous Danish glassworks Holmegaard. The bluish tone, the thickness of the glass visible at the top is an integral part of the design of this vase, dated and signed underneath.
Per Lutken was a famous Danish glassmaker who joined Holmegaard in 1942 and worked there until his death. He contributed to the revival of the glass industry, which was running out of steam at the time, by bringing his pure and timeless style, which has become a classic of Scandinavian design and can be found in many Danish and Swedish homes. He was very productive and for decades created numerous models that made the glassware industry successful in Denmark and around the world. The Holmegaard factory was founded in 1823 in Næstved, southwest of Copenhagen, and started its activity by manufacturing green and brown bottles, and later turned to art glass. Count Christian Conrad Danneskiold-Samsøe bought the Holmegaard estate and realised that the local peat could be used as fuel. He asked the Danish king...
