About the Item

Walnut Secretary Dresser With Marble Top, the Interwar Period (1918–1939) A captivating example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, this stunning commode de toilette combines functionality with timeless elegance. Crafted in the Interwar Period, it features a gracefully curved, intricately carved back panel crowned with an ornately sculpted pediment. The original beveled crystal mirror, though showing signs of age with subtle patination and delicate surface speckles, adds a rich sense of history and character to the piece. The polished marble top, with a warm reddish hue and natural white veining, adds a luxurious touch, while the upper shelf provides both visual balance and practical storage. Below, the dresser body boasts three spacious drawers complemented by two smaller drawers just beneath the marble top, perfect for storing personal items or grooming accessories. The warm-toned wood showcases a lustrous finish, highlighting its natural grain and exquisite craftsmanship. Elegant brass handles, with intricate rococo-inspired designs, further enhance its sophistication. While the piece has undergone professional restoration, it retains the charm of its era, with minor imperfections that attest to its authenticity—such as the age-induced patina on the mirror. A perfect statement piece for a refined interior, this vanity dresser harmonizes beauty and function, evoking a sense of nostalgic luxury.

Antique Victorian Mirrored Dresser in Walnut & Burl Walnut with White Marble Top
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome antique Victorian dresser of solid walnut and burl walnut with white marble top and black painted turned wood and brass teardrop pulls. It is in wonderful antique condition with an amazing antique patina. The candle shelves were broken and there was a small piece of molding missing on the lower left side of the mirror frame, but the shelves have been repaired beautifully and the molding carved and replaced by our experienced staff. There are other smalls signs of its long life and use including some staining on the antique white marble. We love its warm antique age patina. The mirror glass is clear but old.
