Elongated carved recessed panels decorate the side posts, while skirting is in clean lines with a downward carved scallop at front center.     A French raised two-drawer chest, with its original finish, from the early 19th century. This antique commode from France features a rectangular-shaped top, whose edge slightly overhangs the case beneather, which houses a pair of vertically stacked drawers, and is raised nicely from the ground on a pair of outwardly facing shapely legs at front (which terminate into petite hoof style feet), and straight legs at rear. Elaborate rococo hardware with centered escutcheons, adorn the drawer fronts. Recessed panels decorate the sides, and backside remains unfinished.
