Baroque Chest of Drawers, Niclas Korp, Sweden, c. 1775

About the Item

Large walnut veneered baroque commode with cambered trapezoidal body made by Swedish cabinetmaker and ebenist Niclas Korp (master 1771). The dresser rests on flared square legs and is covered with a recent stone top. The dresser has three drawers and a narrow drawer with an interior division. Fire-gilt bronze fittings decorate the front with fine cube marquetry.
