The chest is raised by most elegant cabriole legs with fine fitted foliate ormolu sabots and an elegant ormolu chute that leads up to a detailed floral corner mount. At the center are two drawers 'sans traverse' (without crossbar), showcasing the high level of craftsmanship. The bottom drawer displays a beautiful central ormolu mount with richly chased urns and swaging floral garlands and finely detailed berried laurel garland pulls. The central drawer displays the same fine pulls and a foliate keyhole escutcheon with a lovely tied ribbon which locks both drawers and opens to reveal the signature at the lock.
