The commode has been beautifully restored in France with a French polish finish over marquetry of bois de rose (tulipwood) and bois de Violette (kingwood), with light string inlay framing the drawer and side panels. Ornate gilt-bronze mounts in the rococo manner, including lavish key plates. Nicely-variegated burgundy and white (known as "rouge rance") marble top. The interiors of all three drawers are lined in an embroidered silk fabric.Category
