Italian 1820s Empire Period Walnut Three-Drawer Commode with Ebonized Columns

About the Item

An Italian Empire walnut three-drawer commode from the early 19th century, with ebonized columns and saber feet. Born in Italy during the early years of the 19th century, this Italian Empire commode features a rectangular top with darker beveled edges, sitting above a frieze drawer overhanging two additional ones. The recessed movement of the lower drawers is accented by the presence of two ebonized wood columns, while the recessed panels adorning each section creates a perfect continuity on the façade. Raised on four short saber feet, this Italian Empire commode circa 1820 will bring a stately presence to any home decor, whether placed in a bedroom or living room.
