Italian Rococo Style Inlaid Bombe Commode, Late 19th Century



Impressive and unique late 19th-early 20th century Italian Rococo style inlaid bombe commode. Beige serpentine-fronted marble top over two drawers inlaid in tortoise shell motif and mounted with acanthus bronze handles. Corners are carved giltwood shells and acanthus leaves, all terminating in cabriole legs. The tortoise motif marquetry inlay is rarely found on furniture.
