Ferrara Baroque Sideboard Mid-18th Century
About the Item
A Ferrara-made Baroque credenza supported by en cabriole feet, it has a moved front in which there are pairs of doors and drawers in the fascia: a large-sized central one and two smaller side ones; the sides are also moved and have one door each. A riser with an opening shelf rests on the top, giving access to the interior compartment, to which galvanized tubs have been added to allow it to be used as a planter; made of walnut, the interior is fir. The cabinet has minor restorations and replacements in the construction part of the drawers, in the back lath and hinges of the riser to allow for the aforementioned transformation, in the hardware, and in a handle on one of the two side doors.
