Lella & Massimo Vignelli, Granpiano sideboard for Bernini, 2005.

About the Item

Granpiano is a piece of furniture born from the hands of the couple Lella & Massimo Vignelli and formally encapsulates the entire Vignelli philosophy: pure geometric forms and essential elements connected by a relationship of perfect proportions. The understated and austere appearance that distinguishes this piece, crafted from exquisite Mocassar ebony wood, demands meticulous woodworking to achieve clean and uniform edges without edging. The thicknesses of the wood, in fact, never appear because the joints are expertly made at 45 degrees. The "block" conceals within it two large vertical side elements with push & pull opening, featuring an internal shelf, and centrally, two spacious drawers, one of which has a refined removable tray ideal for storing cutlery. The timeless style of the Vignellis, so devoid of frills yet perfectly executed, reveals a sophisticated formal aspect centered on dimensions and the balance of proportions. Granpiano comes with an authenticity certificate issued by Bernini.
