About the Item

Please believe me when I say pictures don't this piece justice. The cherry wood shimmers and gleams with an almost indescribable Iridescence that looks like rivers of honey that form the ebbing and flowing grain. The tones and hues of the piece change depending on how the light hits it and where your eye catches it. You'll see amber, ochre, honey, and umber. We purchased this cabinet from the son of the original owners who had it custom made in the 1970's. Although it looks similar to the works to Jens Risom, Arne Vodder, and Brown-Saltman, this is a custom, made 1 of 1 credenza. There are many unique aspects to this piece that seem inspired by many designers of the period. A large cherry door on the left conceals open cabinet space with removable / adjustable shelves. The right has a faux-door panel that is made to resemble the one on the left. However, this faux-door is actually the front panel to a roll-out bar cart. This handsome server sports two drop-leaves that double its counter space. This mini buffet is perfectly suited for beverage or snack service. The cart is perfectly concealed and we tip our hats to the clever craftsman who concocted this practical deception. The middle section is a lighted wine bottle display with plenty of space for your collection. This piece was designed for serious storage. The exceptional length is the perfect dimension for your flat screen TV if you choose to use this as a media cabinet. A true masterpiece mix of solid cherry and cherry veneer over plywood core. The construction, materials, fit and finish exhibit a quality seldom seen, even from respected makers. Fully restored, with only very minor imperfections. This custom cherry dry-bar credenza is a rare piece of vintage craftsmanship, combining dramatic presence with smart functionality. It measures approximately 72 inches long, 21.6 inches deep, and 36 inches high — a size that gives it gravitas but still works well as a freestanding focal storage or entertainment cabinet. Built of solid cherry and cherry veneer over a plywood core. The wood grain is extraordinary — rivers of honeyed cherry that shift in tone depending on how the light strikes it, showing amber, ochre, umber and warm brown hues in rich movement. On the left, a large door opens to reveal adjustable shelves, offering flexible storage. On the right, what looks like another door is actually a disguised roll-out bar cart, complete with two drop-leaves that extend workspace when needed. The center section holds a lighted wine-bottle display, beautifully designed to showcase a collection while lending ambient glow. Top to bottom it’s been meticulously restored. The finish has been refinished by cabinet-shop experts — the top especially shows careful work, detailed throughout, with flaws minimized and original character preserved. Wear consistent with age remains only in subtle places, contributing warmth rather than distracting. Design references are noticeable in its proportions and elegance—it suggests the influence of major mid-century designers without copying any of them, making this a unique one-of-one piece. It’s functional as a dry bar or server, suitable for use also as a media console. Dimensions: 21.63" D x 36" H x 72" L
