About the Item
An extraordinary example of 1960s Italian design, this headboard produced by MIM (Mobili Italiani Moderni) combines functional elegance and fine materials in a hybrid form that makes it also usable as a sideboard or bar cabinet. Made of wood veneer, it features two small drawers with metal knobs, a flap covered in recently refreshed ochre-colored bouclé fabric, and an open space with integrated light attributed to Gino Sarfatti-a rare and precious detail that underscores its design importance.
The strict design is softened by the texture of the fabric and enhanced by a beautiful patina of time, intentionally preserved to maintain the charm of the original. The feet are finished with aluminum finials, emphasizing attention to detail and refined construction.
A versatile and sculptural piece, ideal for modern environments, collectors and lovers of postwar Italian design.
