About the Item

East meets West with this captivating Renzo Rutili style cabinet. The efficient size makes it perfect for any room. Ideal as an entertainment console, dining room sideboard buffet bedroom dresser. Distinctive brass handle accents and carved fretwork reliefs in the door fronts punctuate this interesting piece. Hinged / bi-fold cabinet doors reveal an expansive cabinet space with vertical dividers, ideal for 12" vinyl records. The wood is pecan to the best of our knowledge, and features the original painted "distress" accents throughout. This popular 60's style is only now being fully appreciated during this current, Asian Modern renaissance. Classic, elegant and timeless. This Renzo Rutili–inspired fretwork credenza brings warmth, texture, and vintage charm in a versatile size of 40 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 28.125 inches high, making it ideal for compact living rooms, dens, media setups, or bedroom storage. The piece is crafted in pecan wood, complete with carved fretwork panels on the bi-fold doors. Brass handle accents punctuate the front, offering subtle metallic contrast against the wood’s warm tones. Inside the cabinet, vertical dividers are fitted to accommodate 12-inch vinyl records, while the single, expansive cabinet offers flexible storage for media, electronics, linens, or display items. The original painted “distress” accents remain throughout, evoking its 1960s era roots and adding character. The top has been refinished to restore the wood grain’s clarity and depth; the finish throughout is clean vintage, showing minor imperfections here and there—small dings or grain irregularities—that serve as gentle evidence of age rather than distraction. The restoration work is thorough, detailed inside and out, ensuring functionality and aesthetic integrity. East meets West aesthetic influences combine in this piece: the fretwork reliefs evoke traditional carved motifs, layered over mid-century lines and function. Its compact footprint means the credenza can work well as a TV stand, a record cabinet, or a storage piece in a compact space, while its decorative front ensures it stands on its own as sculpture of function. Collectors who prize craftsmanship, material warmth, historic style statements, and vintage personality will see this as more than furniture—it’s an object of presence. It offers story, surface and form, ready to anchor a space with an inviting, authentic aesthetic.

Thomasville Embassy Wood Inlay Asian Modern Campaign Style Brass Accent Credenza
By Thomasville, Henredon, Drexel, Dorothy Draper
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Dorothy Draper style campaign credenza made by esteemed US furniture maker Thomasville circa 1970s. Old growth flaxen flared grain fruitwood (most likely pecan) from top to bottom are the hallmarks of the Embassy line. Black lacquer accents and brass pull hardware tie together British traditional and Eastern design. The door facades exhibit a diamond pattern wood inlay with contrasting color tones, presented tastefully to demonstrate a delicate ornate sensibility. Two large Interior cabinet spaces offer heaps of open storage with a single stationary shelf in each bay. No composite or MDF anywhere on this campaign credenza. Thomasville used a combination of solid hardwood interiors, solid fruitwood and veneers. We purchased this from the original owners out of time-capsule estate and nearly everything in the home was from the Thomasville Embassy...
