Early 19th Century Welsh Dresser

About the Item

Early 19th century inlaid Welsh oak dresser. The dresser has a lovely and simple crown over a wonderful top with pierced and scalloped design. The top has three shelves, all with molded fronts, flanked by sides made from oak and bird's eye maple accents. The back boards are original and wide, which adds to the depth of the top. The base has three drawers over three central drawers, which are flanked with two hand paneled doors with inlaid quarter fans. The base has a blocked front which steps out gracefully in the center. The central bank of drawers is made from mahogany, with oak drawer fronts which are inlaid for lovely contrast. The central drawers are flanked with hand turned quarter column as well, which adds depth to the overall piece. The sides are hand paneled as well, for a beautiful view from any angle. The piece is raised on gorgeous and original bracket feet. The serving height is 36.25 inches.
