French 18th Century Louis XV Buffet Two-Part High Cupboard Sideboard Provencal

About the Item

Late 18th century French walnut two-tiered cabinet, with the top cabinet being shallowing than the bottom cabinet, an antique hand-carved two-door buffet from Provence, total height 101.19 inches, 257 centimeters. Large Louis XV chestnut buffet a deux corps with one drawers, beautifully "chapeaux de gendarme" shaped panels on its four doors, three flutes embellish the center column, original pierced iron hardware, standing on carved curls feet. It has a graceful scallop on the lower front bottom. Inside the large storage area there is one shelf in the lower part and three shelves in the interior upper part. It comes from a private residence in Milan and it is in overall good age related condition, with minor replacements of old restorations, solid oak in the side panels and the top of the lower part.
