About the Item

This is something truly special, a custom made safe with a fascinating history! This safe belonged to a wealthy family in the fur coat business around 1910. They used it to protect their most expensive coats from theft and animals. It's not just functional but also a fantastic decorative piece, possibly one of a kind. Made of thin metal, it might look heavy, but surprisingly, it's not too weighty. The safe is painted in a nice greige color, and its round door is secured by four metal handles and a central metal knob. The original lock is unique, a round metal ball with chains going in on both sides, and the key sits in the middle. Inside, there's a horizontal bar for hanging the coats, making it a super decorative object. There are some German texts written on the inside.
