About the Item
It’s been a while since we offered a Czech food cupboard for sale and this little piece is a beauty. They are utilitarian pieces, normally showing no decoration but usually featuring some nice construction techniques. The top is exceptional, with exposed hand-cut dovetails and an ogee crown molding pegged onto the front and sides. Beneath that is a plain frieze. The case accommodates three equal square hand-cut dovetailed overlay drawers with white ceramic pulls. These are usually on the left. On the right there is a raised panel door. The astragal on the edge of the door overlaps the drawer fronts, thereby serving to lock the drawers. The door opens on French-style fiche hinges, a full 180 degrees, for easy access to the single shelf mounted half way up inside.
