About the Item
An elegant and sculptural 1950s Danish teak desk designed by architect Svend Madsen. This piece showcases Madsen’s signature attention to form and function, with a gently curved top that invites you in and a sculpted lip along the back that subtly frames the design.
The desk rests on striking arched legs, joined by angular cross-supports that not only stabilize the structure but also elevate its architectural presence. Each detail, from the dovetailed drawers to the integrated sculpted pulls, speaks to the high quality of midcentury Danish craftsmanship.
We have fully restored this desk, bringing back the depth and warmth of the teak while preserving its character. The result is a statement piece in incredible condition — both practical and beautiful from every angle, including the open bookshelf at the rear designed to be admired in the center of a room.
