19th Century French Oak Podium
About the Item
A wooden desk made in 19th century, France. This tall desk has been carefully bleached so as to enhance its natural oak surface and highlight the elaborate carvings that adorn its surface– bringing new urgency to lessons from the past. A mesmerizing circle motif has been carved at its center, with leaf motifs wreathing its perimeter. The desk’s reading surface can be turned upwards to reveal drawers and storage compartments; shelves below allow plenty of space for a comprehensive archive.
