Antique 19th Century Architect's Mahogany Pedestal Desk Drafting Table 1870

About the Item

A good and unusual 19th century antique mahogany pedestal architect's drafting table, desk, circa 1870. The desk/drafting table having a hinged lift up writing/drawing surface that can be elevated or flat. To the front are two wide & deep file drawers to store drawings/blueprints & each drawer has two recessed 'campaign' style brass handles. To each side is drawer to store pens, pencils and other drafting materials, the front of the drawers are carved with wheatsheaves, there is a key present for the locks. The drafting table is raised on a turned baluster pedestal and below are four cabriole legs terminating to carved scrolled feet with the original brass castors. A rare & unusual antique 19th century mahogany drafting table, architect's desk in good condition & ready to grace your home or office.
