Bachelor Desk

About the Item

Georgian 18th cetury Bachelors Desk with fold over leather top which has a gold tooled border. The hinged top is supported upon pull out slides. The drawers are all lined in mahogany which illustrates the quality of this piece, the brass handles ore original and of circa 1770 period. This piece so strongly Chippendale in manner and construction, so seldom does one see such pieces almost entirely constructed in mahogany, it is to be highly recommended to those interested in fine quality British furniture. Having the original brassware is an added attractive feature. The folding over of the top allows one ample leg room giving good access for modern day usage. Measures: 91cm x51cm x 79 cm. 3' foot x 1,8" x 2'7" High. The fold over top is supported upon pull out slides giving one ample working surface . The bracket feet raises the height to give one ample foot and leg space. Should you wish more details or photographs we are happy to supply.

    Replacements made: Leather surface. Repaired: minor blocking to feet leather top. Wear consistent with age and use. The leather top has been replaced with leather with gold tooled border. This is inevitable with a piece of this age , its just wear and tear on the old leather .
