Early 19th Century Sheraton Style American Bowfront Sideboard with Dropdown Desk

About the Item

In fifty-two years in business we have never seen a piece like this rare bowfront sideboard with a top drawer that folds out to reveal a writing surface with leather top. Other features include rich flame grained mahogany which is bookmatched in front, Sheraton style oval brass pulls, five other deep drawers -four of which are curved- and six turned and reeded legs. The desk section has two small drawers and pigeon holes in back. When the desk is extended forward the measurement is an additional eighteen inches. See full measurements below.

Replacements made: The leather desk top and brasses have been replaced. Since many of our pieces are well over one to two hundred years old, there is no way for us to detect every expert repair that may have been previously made. Wear consistent with age and use. Wear consistant with most two hundred year old pieces. The last image shows a blemish above the key hole escutcheon. The original finish is not perfect but it is an unusual, sturdy piece of fine functional furniture.
