George II Walnut Kneehole Desk

About the Item

An especially fine quality George II period burr walnut kneehole desk with quartered 'bookmark-veneered' top with herringbone inlay and cross-banding, above a single long drawer and an arrangement of short drawers either side of a central recessed cupboard door and a concealed apron drawer with shaped front, all similarly decorated in accordance with the top and raised on eight small bracket feet. (Top two handles replaced with closely matched examples of the same period). Superb condition throughout and good colour.
