Hepplewhite Serpentine Kneehole Table, 18th Century

About the Item

Hepplewhite serpentine kneehole table An 18th century Georgian mahogany Hepplewhite serpentine kneehole dressing or writing table. The table has three drawers and two cupboards to the front and a lower shelf inside the kneehole. The drawers have oak linings, a box wood edge, a flame mahogany front and original brass ring handles. The cupboard doors are concave with a figured mahogany centre, cross banded, ebony strung, box wood edged and the interior has a single fixed shelf. The table has six square and tapering legs that are ebony strung. The table is in good condition with some old marks to the top and sides. (Circa 1780) Measures: Height 79.8cm (31.4 inches) Width 122cm (48 inches) Depth 55.5cm (21.8 inches).
