Jugend-Stil Desk, Sweden 1910
About the Item
A stunning Jugendstil desk in original condition with all working locks and hardware. Ebonized oak provides an amazingly sturdy writing surface which is at 29.75". Two base cabinets of the same oak mount doors with hammered brass panels, as was the style in the period.
Would work well as a design accent or as a functional desk. The style is the Northern European branch of the new art that climaxed before the first world war- see also Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau.
