An absolutely wonderful example of a Georgian bureau with exceptional coloring and a fall front revealing a red leather writing interior, with pigeon holes, drawers, cupboard and bible ends. All above 2 short over three long drawers and standing on bracket feet. Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use. Old marks, some openings to joints, some chips, losses, replacements to veneers and inlays. Overall solid and stable. Handles are replacements throughout. The interior marked and warn, and with signs of marks and stains to the writing surface. Provenance: The Fulwood Collection The Fulwood Collection comes from a Grade II listed rectory in the North of England. Formerly the childhood home of Sir Douglas Bader. The rectory was acquired by the late owner approximately 15 years ago.
